Friday, December 20, 2002 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to All! This has been an exciting year for us. We were blessed with a son.
Carrie's company was acquired and fortunately she kept her job. She is very busy between work and raising Noah. She is often very sleep deprived.
Amanda (in the Navy) has been stationed in California, Camp Pendleton. She is a medic for a Marine unit there. I just got back from visiting her and had a great time. We went to the San Diego Zoo and shopped. The mountains and ocean are breathtakingly beautiful.
Lisa and Pete bought an Airstream bus RV and plan to start traveling across the country. The RV is very comfortable. It has a shower, microwave, couch, dvd player and many other comforts.
Paul is one semester away from finishing his current school. He hasn't made a decision on where he is off to next. He is working at Friendly's and has a wonderful girlfriend.
Peter is working overseas on a ship. We miss him dearly and hope he stays safe.
Congratulations to Lizzie who is pregnant with her third child. She is having another boy. There is no hope for any girls in that family!
Linda and John are enjoying being grandparents again. Linda has taken up a new hobby, photography. She has all the professional equipment. Believe it or not... John actually got a deer this year. Thank goodness he doesn't have to hunt to put food on the table for his family. We would all be starving.
Wednesday, September 11, 2002 We said a prayer today asking God to help all who suffered from last year's tragedy. I cannot put into words how I feel and what to say so I just want you to know that you will be remembered.
I received an email today and I found some peace in the passage that was attached from 2 Corinthians, here it is:
I would like to share just one of the good ways that Carrie and I were affected by the events on 9-11. Yes ... something good. Carrie and I just celebrated our second wedding anniversary last year. Carrie was talking about having a baby, and I told her I definitely wanted a baby but not now. I was a consultant working out of town all the time. I wanted to wait a few more years so I could find a job close to home and raise a family the right way. But then boom this happens.
During the next few months we talked a lot about the meaning of our lives and what our purpose was. We grew closer together and our marriage grew stronger. In November, we went on vacation to Costa Rica with a group. In that group were a lot of co-workers and friends. We had a great time enjoying life with friends. We saw the beauty in the world again. We also, although we didn't know it at the time, came home pregnant. Once we found out a few weeks later, I was so happy. I really wanted to have a child and not wait any longer but to live my life today.
I don't know what this means and it might not mean anything but every once and a while I catch a glimpse of someone in my son's eyes. For me it is the memory of life in all of the people we lost that day. He is three and a half weeks old today. God bless.
Thursday, August 22, 2002 Grandparents from Florida, New Jersey and Tinley Park came to see the little wonder. Grandma Lisa and Grandpa Pete drove all night from Florida to see their newest grandson. Grandpa Zivko, Grandma Debbie and Uncle Adam flew in Friday night and saw Noah on Saturday. Grandma Linda and Grandpa John drove to the hospital right after he was born and spent his very first hours in the world with him. Aunt Amanda took the train to hold her little nephew.
Sunday, February 24, 2002 Ryan and John are busy in their second semester at school. John has a great job at Wal-Mart. They love him there. Ryan is busy studying to beat his high marks during his first semester.
Paul is counting down to when he will be done with community college. He wants to be a teacher and is starting to scout out his next college. He just joined the school newspaper as their photographer. He also bought a new Cannon Rebel 2000 camera for his birthday. He is a new year's eve baby.
Amanda is coming to Chicago in March to visit Kris and Carrie. Ten days after her visit she will be joining the U.S. Navy. She will be at Great Lakes basic training and then maybe into their medical program.
Lexie will be turning two in March. Bob and Jennie just celebrated another happy year of marriage. Bob's birthday is quickly approaching as well. What to get Bob?????
I, (Kris) am starting a new job with Kellogg (you know the cereal company). I made a very tough decision and resigned from Siebel. I was traveling all the time and decided to look for a job in the Chicago area. This great opportunity opened up and I took it. Wish me luck.
Carrie is getting a little baby belly. She has a relatively good pregnancy so far. She was nauseous during the second month but now she suffers from the occasional head ache. We will post the picture of the ultra sound sometime next month.
We just returned from a visit with my dad in New Jersey. We saw my aunt Beba who was visiting. We had a great time!
I am starting on a new hobby... I know you ask yourself another hobby. Yes, I am not done with my vintage video game hobby or my die cast collection of Hot Wheels and Matchbox. This hobby actually started many years ago. I want to get a radio control monster truck. I am looking at either getting a Traxxas T-Maxx or a Tamiya Terra-Crusher. When I was in the seventh grade I had a Tamiya Wild Willy. I loved to play with it. In fact my mom just sent it to me and I am restoring it.
Saturday, December 22, 2001 This year was a year to rely on God and the good deeds of all our fellow brothers and sisters. We have had terrible events occur and wonderful people have turned to each other in love to help out. I would like to send my condolences and prayers to all of families and friends that suffered from the September eleventh attacks. God bless everyone and I pray for a more peaceful tomorrow..... Kris
Amanda (Kris' youngest sister) has signed up to join the Navy. She will leave some time in the Spring. John finished his first semester at school with As and Bs. We are very proud of him. Paul continues getting excellent grades in school.
Big John (Carrie's dad) went hunting again this year but returned home with no deer. Thank goodness for grocery stores!
Pictured above is the nativity scene that I built this year. It sits in front of our house. I borrowed the plans from the nicest person, Jon. I stopped in front of his house admiring his lawn displays and asked where he got his plans. He generously lent them to me. Thanks! Next year I will add the three wise men.
Sunday, April 15, 2001 Happy Easter! We went to church and then to a great brunch with the family. Baby Lexie is walking and just past her first birthday. Ryan and Amanda are graduating from High School in June.
My new job (stated last August) is going very well. I am learning a lot and I just finished working on a dot com implementation.
Paul has started taking college classes again and is doing very well. He is getting As and Bs. John John has also gotten bitten by the school bug and starts college in the fall semester. He is off to a big four year school. Good luck John and Paul.
Thursday, January 5, 2001 Happy New Year and I hope everyone had a great Christmas!
Many things have happened since my last update. So.. let's get started and I will fill you in.
Carrie got a job transfer from Massachusetts to Illinois. She is now serving the tax clients in the Chicago area. She is thinking about applying to graduate school.
I started a new job in August (when we moved). I left the family of AA to seek a new adventure. I miss the people that I worked with in Sarasota and Boston. Thanks everyone!
Carrie and I both attended our 10 year high school reunions. We flew to Florida to attend my reunion, which was organized perfectly. I had such a great time seeing my old friends again. The biggest shock was, Carl.. he is married and recently he and his wife, Kim had a baby girl. Congratulations!
We always thought, man when I attend my ten year reunion I am going to be old! But the truth is that I still feel as young as that kid that went to high school.
We had a spooky Halloween party. We hope to make it an annual party. We asked everyone to dress up which was successful. We served finger food and drinks, it was a ton of fun. Family and friends came from near and far to attend. We held a contest for best costume and Linda (click to see her costume) won. See you next year!
We bought a new car. My 10 year old car saw better days. However, it is still running beautifully. We gave in and bought a Nissan Pathfinder SUV. It is a great car, and the four wheel drive was perfect for plowing through the snow.
Our Christmas was wonderful. We had several family gatherings at gram's, mom's and sister's house, all of which were just spectacular. Being together for Christmas is the best gift in the world. Carrie bought me many beautiful gifts, the best gift was a book Chicken Soup for the Christian Soul. I just started the book and absolutely love it!
I could go on forever... so much has happened and I didn't even tell you about our families.
Saturday, March 25, 2000 Added a picture of Baby Lexie.
Added a new poem to Paul's Corner.
Check out Carrie's new hair style (quite attractive)! She is ready for warm weather.
Friday, February 26, 2000 The big news is when is Baby Lexie going to be born? Take a guess and you may win a prize! Peter's birthday is tomorrow... Saturday! Happy Birthday Peter! Dom and Lizzy are expecting their second baby boy. She is due in a few weeks. Stay tuned for more on their baby and pictures. My high school reunion is coming up. I have been out of high school 10 years. I can't believe it. I was on the lost alumni list but some good work by Nicole Kelly C. found me. Thanks Nicole. The reunion is taking place in Fort Pierce in July. I will be posting the page that Nicole has distributed and the list of other lost alumni. Off the top of my head Joe I. and Chris J. were on the list... hopefully we can find them. Paul is a published poet on the Internet. Check out www.poetry.com and put Paul Ivicic in the search engine and you will see his poems. Those and his other exclusive works can be seen here in Paul's Corner. A new photo section is going to be added. This new section will allow you to view current photos from all of our friends and family.
Monday, December 27, 1999 Well, it has been too long since the last update. You may ask me why so long. Here is my brief explanation. After the honeymoon (look below for story) I worked around the house, got a visit from Linda and Jennifer (Carrie's mother and sister), went on a cruise, Thanksgiving and Christmas. But even with all of that I should have updated it anyhow.
The honeymoon: We left Chicago after getting married and went to St. Lucia. This is a small beautiful island near the US Virgin Islands. After 10 days of eating, drinking and baking in the sun we had to go home. We had a great time. I will post some pictures in a few days. When we got home we still had 5 days of vacation left. We headed out on an adventure to Maine. We did some outlet shopping on the way and finally arrived at Acadia National Park. Maine is so beautiful. If you haven't been to Maine you must go. The summer is the best time to camp and bike around on all the trails. We ate lobster and fresh blue berry pie every night. The food was so good and cheap. A complete lobster dinner was around $14, which included a appetizer and desert.
You are probably asking How is the married life? Well, tomorrow is our four month anniversary. And I love my wife and look forward to many, many years to come. Married life is great!
We spent Christmas with Carrie's family in Chicago. We visited with Gram Ruth, Aunt Jeanie, Jennifer and Aunt Arlene. We packed a lot of visiting into five days. We had a great time.
Big News: Jennifer (Carrie's sister) is expecting a baby girl in March. Bob and Jennifer are very excited! The shower is in January.
Sunday, August 22, 1999 The wedding is this Saturday, August 28th. Be sure to call us/email us with any questions. Can't wait to see everyone at the wedding. Friday, July 30, 1999 The wedding is less than 1 month away. I hope that you were able to make your hotel reservations. There seems to be a concert the same weekend and the hotels are filling up.
I have spoken and emailed many of you. And I am happy that so many of you are able to come. Craig, Tricia, Joe, John, Charlie, Shirley, our friends and co-workers from Sarasota will be traveling a long way to be with us. My roommate and best friend from college, Steve and his wife Amy will be at the wedding from south Florida. Cousins from Washington, New York, Connecticut, and many other states. All to celebrate our day with us. Thank You in Advance! We look forward to celebrating with you. Travel Safe.
Paul will be Kris' best man and Jennifer will be Carrie's maid of honor.
Sunday, July 11, 1999 Well, the 4th of July has come and gone. We saw the fireworks in the neighboring town of Natick. The wedding is almost one month away. Please send back the response cards if you haven't already. Carrie's sister, Jennifer, and her mom, Linda, had a wedding shower for us in Chicago. It was a great time with many relatives and friends attending. Thanks to all of you who gave us such wonderful gifts! Pictures of the shower will be posted soon (Linda's finishing the roll). We have added some pictures of the Riviera Country Club and more information about the reception (look under the wedding link). We've also added a picture of the front of our house.
Thursday, June 24, 1999 The invitations have gone out. Call me or send me an email if you haven't received it yet. And blame it on me and not Carrie (I probably forgot to tell her). But let me tell you something, visit the site next week and you will get to see pictures of the Church, Reception hall, Shower and maybe if they are not too incriminating pictures of the boys night out.
We are going to Chicago tomorrow (Friday) to meet with Pastor Strieter, pick flowers and choose the tuxedoes. Saturday is the Shower and Friday night is boy's night out (I am looking forward to it!)
Carrie's sister is planning a girl's night out (and it is going to be an all night party) in downtown Chicago. They have reservations at a nice hotel and made dinner plans. Everything else is top secret (CJ loves me).
June 9, 1999 You have reached Ivicic.com. This web site has been created by Carrie and Kris. We created it to bring all of us (Family & Friends) closer together. We would like to put family news, events, pictures, trees, addresses, what your profession is and if you have a business. We will help you create a web page for your business and your family. For the big news.. we are getting married. I will be putting more detailed information together over the next few weeks. Come back again for maps, hotels, preview of the night's events.
